Compressed Guitar Sound

This little solo/break was recorded directly into the desk (an old Fostex Digital DMT 8), through a Sansamp. A Boss CS-3 Compressor pedal and a trusty DD-3 Digital Delay was added. Guitar: Stratocaster / Neck Pickup.

The solo uses Arpeggios rather than Scales, and Sweep Picking.

Here’s a take I recorded over the C Major Pentatonic Backing Track.

It was recorded with a Strat going thru the dirty channel of a Peavey Classic 50w Tube/Valve amp.

Effects-wise a Boss DS1 Distortion set to a medium Dist, and a Boss DD3 Delay was used.
